I am an Assistant Professor at Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville (SIUE). I received my Ph.D. in Engineering: Computer Engineering-Computer Science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (2022), and my Bachelors in Computer Engineering at the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley (2016). I also received my Masters in Business Administration with a specialization in Project Management (2025), and Masters in Crop Science (tentatively 2027).
My research is focused at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence in Computer Vision, Agent-Based Modeling, and Resilience for agricultural and social-ecological systems . My work includes designing novel deep learning segmentation frameworks for 2D imagery, creating models to simulate various agricultural systems, and quantifying resilience in dynamic, complex systems. I utilize high-throughput, and supercomputing to processs information-dense datasets for more detailed evaluations.
