HIRT stands for Highway Incident Response Trainer. It is an online multi-player game designed to help Illinois emergency response personnel practice safe highway parking procedures.

We are a group of three students in the Computer Science program at SIUE working on our senior project. Our client is Dr. Zhou of the Civil Engineering Dept. He works closely with the Illinois Department of transportation and has propositioned us with the opportunity to develope a program that all different types of incident responders can use via the web to interact and practice safe highway response procedures. It is better that they learn the right and the wrong approaches online rather than on dangerous highways.
